About: Citronella has a tart, lemony aroma with bright astringent middle-top notes. It is commonly used to deter mosquitos and bugs, and is an excellent addition to household cleaners for its performance and for its citrus scent.

Common Uses: Make a bug spray with 15 drops Citronella, 15 drops Eucalyptus citriodora, and 15 drops Rose Geranium. Add together in 1 ounce of water with 1 tablespoon witch hazel alcohol, then mist on the body as needed. Dilute Citronella in plant oils or lotion then apply to soothe areas of discomfort. The oil may also be diffused.

Blending Recommendations: Citronella has a lemony, tart aroma that blends well with many essential oils. The cutting citrus notes come forward in the blend, meaning that only a small amount is needed.
